Old Friends

If you read my post last Friday (June 20th), you'll know that I've reconnected with a dear old friend from my boarding school days in Yorkshire, England. I'm still getting my head around the fact that Witty and I have ended up living 20 miles apart in Michigan .... half-way across the world from when our friendship began around 28 years ago (Witts ... we're not really THAT old you know!). Anyway, turns out that Witty gets Wednesday's off work so yesterday we met face-t0-face for the first time since 1986!!! Yes, I cried ... so emotional to see her smiley face again! What a wonderful 3 hour lunch we had!

So to mark our incredible fortune at being so geographically close to each other, I used the WT challenge on Splitcoast to come up with a friendship card. Today's WT (Ways To use it) challenge was to use a bird image on a card. I have always loved the antique feel of 'Carte Postale' so decided to dig it out and use the Swallow to make Witty's card. Mon Amie of course means My Friend in French. Witty will always be that ... I started with a 4 1/4" square card and layered up with a centre square of 2". The swallow was stamped in Spring Moss and clear embossed for some dimension, then I distressed the image with Old Paper Distress Ink.

Recipe:
Stamps: Carte Postale, SU
C/Stock: PTI Ivory, Spring Moss, SU Chocolate Chip, Distress Ink in Old Paper
Ink: PTI Spring Moss
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder & Heat Gun, Sponge for distressing

Gorgeous card, glad your mini-reunion went so well. Feels like I just watched a chick flick, think I am gonna cry!
