Last Minute Christmas Cards

I spent Saturday working on more Christmas cards to get in the post. It was lovely working on them while the snow was gently falling outside my craft room window. This is a really simple one which I think turned out really well.

New Home

I needed a New Home card last weekend and this retired set seems to be the only thing suitable in the SU collection at the moment. I'm so sad it didn't carry over from last year's Holiday mini. It'll be one I keep on hand forever though, this is too sweet to get rid of!

Stamps : Holiday home
Cardstock : Shimmery White, Blushing Bride
Ink : memento black, various reinkers for colouring

Z-Fold Style with a Difference

There's something utterly charming about these cute little Christmas Stockings. I wanted to make a Z-Fold card but with the stockings hanging so I inverted the strip to make a sort of mantel. Keeping everything white, I just put the narrow strip through the woodgrain Embossing Folder which looks great against the brick. Just a splash of colour with the stockings, real red and pear pizzazz.

The only tricky part of the card was making the 4th stocking inverted (double sided). When the card is closed, you can only see the back of the stocking. I stamped a mirror image, not the best result as it's a little "fuzzier" than the first three but it looks OK!

Feeling pretty Christmassy around here!

Stamps : Hang Your Stocking, Oh What Fun (sentiment)
Ink : Real Red, Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock : Shimmery White, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories : Big Shot, wood grain and brick embossing folders, stockings framelits, white twine.

Santa's Sleigh

No stamps in this one! I used Silver & Copper paper and a few touches to add interest, namely the Textured Impressions embossing folder.

December means Christmas is almost Here!

It's finally December, time to get on with my Christmas Cards!

These cards were made with December's Paper Pumpkin stamps. I've not been overly excited about any of the PP kits since I started getting them in June so was finally happy I'd signed up. I love the simplicity of the sweet little houses and trees. I made a shaker card to make the snow and am really pleased with how it turned out.

Fancy Folds

I don't often post non-SU product, but these 2 stamp sets are just my style so I splurged! I went on a stamping weekend in October and spent quite a long time figuring out these 2 folds.

If anyone would like the dimensions etc, I'll pull together a template.

Baby Noah

I wanted to make a card for good friends of mine who have just had their third grandchild, a little boy called Noah. I saw this card by Julie Kettlewell recently and thought I'd use it as inspiration for this new baby boy card.

It's on its way back to England, hopefully it won't get squashed in the post :)

Under the Weather

A friend of work had some bad news concerning her mum last week and I felt so sorry but can't actually do anything. Well, I can make a card. I love the sentiment "wishing you brighter days" which is perfect for her. Aren't the love-heart raindrops lovely? I cut them out using the matching framelit and attached them to the card using a rolled up glue dot. They are tiny so dimensionals weren't going to do the job!

Mint Macaron Pocket Card

I find lots of inspiration from a fellow English demonstrator Julie Kettlewell. If you haven't found her yet (unlikely) then take a look at her blog.

Julie made a lovely pocket card using the stamp set "Birthday Blossoms" so I thought I'd give it a whirl using the mini treat bag thinlit which I haven't actually used for anything yet. I used Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron which is one of my favourite combinations.

Recipe
Stamps : Birthday Blossoms
Ink : Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake
Cardstock : Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories : Big Shot, Mini Treat Bag Thinlit, Lots of Labels Framelit, Jumbo 1/2 Pearls, Aquapainter, Mint Macaron Lace Ribbon.
