Floral District Fabric Tote

Just one more ~ couldn't stop I'm afraid. This one was made with the Floral District Fabric, I left off the handles so this one can just sit on my desk. Details on where you can purchase the pattern can be found at yesterday's post.

Comfort Cafe Fabric Tote

I recently saw one of these little fabric totes on Pinterest, so I googled the pattern and bought a copy from the Fat Quarter Shop ~ here's a link if you fancy making one yourself! I chose the Comfort Cafe fabric, it's gorgeous and I haven't used it yet ... the pattern is a little fiddly, the SU fabric width is a little different than the pattern states, but if you take your time, it goes together quite easily. I do think you need some experience with sewing though, that binding was a bugger!!!

Here's a closer look at all those lovely pockets. You really could store a ton of supplies in one of these things, it's very useful. This one is sitting on my desk, LOVE IT!

And look at that gorgeous zipper pocket on the outside, LINED in a contrasting fabric. So cute! A mobile phone, or cash would pop perfectly into there!

I think I'll try one in Floral District next ...

Christmas Card Class

This month, I'm holding my third annual "Ten for Twenty" card class. You make two each of five designs. Here's what I came up with:

Here are some closer pics. When making 10 cards, it's important to keep them relatively simple, with just the right touch of 'wow'. With these 5 designs, you will use the Big Shot with embossing folders and framelits, you'll use punches and ribbons along with embossing powders and the new Illuminate glitter ink pad. The class is being held at my house on Saturday 13th October at 10.00 am. If you'd like details, please leave a comment with your e:mail address. Thanks!

Collies

I found this 'Collie' stamp online which I wanted for our friend, and Collie Breeder, Carole Stanley. She's the Chairperson of the Midwest Collie Club of America and does a TON of work to help promote and protect this breed. She's a wonderful friend, who has really taken Sarah under her wing. This card is a 'thank you'. I already mailed it off to her and I'm a little worried the colouring and the image aren't quite right, but she'll appreciate my effort, I'm sure!

September Club Projects

Here are the 3 Club projects for this month:-

A Triple Layer Card, a Hot Cocoa Pouch (CASE'd from Dawn Olfcheske, video tutorial can be found here) and a card featuring a stamped clay embellishment CASE'd from Betsey Veldman for PTI.

Here's a closer look at the Clay. I rolled out a piece of Sculpey 'Dusty Rose' oven baked clay and stamped the solid floral image from Fabulous Florets in Melon Mambo Ink. Using a clay tool, I trimmed away the edges to form an oval, of sorts. Then I baked the clay for 15 mins at 275'F. Once cooled, I attached it to my card with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue.
And here's Dawn's Hot Cocoa Pouch. I absolutely love this design, so clever. And that sweater trim, soooo soft and pretty!

Bottom Farmhouse

So, OK, who WOULDN'T want to live in a house called 'Bottom Farmhouse' ... LOVE IT! My gorgeous cousin, Kate, and her family are moving in a couple of days so I wanted to make them a 'New Home' card. I sat and pondered. SU don't have a great selection of houses, or new home stuff so I thought I'd make my own house. This is a rough template I made for the job :

Not bad, I thought, could be cute with the right colours, accessories etc. Then I remembered that Bottom Farmhouse is a very traditional English farmhouse and very symmetrical ... sooooo ... I thought I'd have a stab at making a replica of their actual house for a hoot. Here's their new home, and the pics below are the card I came up with. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Kate realises it's actually HER new house. If not, then it's still a cute New Home card, right? Hee hee.

Recipe
Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi Cardstock
Sponges, Inks & Spritzer Tool. Various Punches

Desktop Display Calendar Class

Friday 19th October, 2012 Calendar Class. Using the Stampin' Up Calendar Cases, we'll be making a desktop calendar in this class. I put together 4 'seasonal' inserts. Jan/Feb/Mar, Apr/May/Jun, Jul/Aug/Sep and Oct/Nov/Dec. These would make the most wonderful Christmas Stocking fillers, the cases are just $1.95 each!

Please let me know if you'd like further details on this class.

Sarah's Puppy

I haven't felt creative for a few weeks. My sweet daughter lost her puppy on Labour Day weekend, he died suddenly and tragically and it has just been so sad in the house. It's hard watching someone you love lose someone they love so much. We'll all miss him, but Sarah will miss him the most, they had big plans and a bright future in the show ring. Here's a small tribute to Sarah's lovely boy, Rhaegar, Afterhours The Night's Watch. Sleep tight, sweet boy.

This last photo was the last pic taken of him, he died of a blood clot in his brain just a few hours later. He was so happy, he had a wonderful life and we will love him forever.
