Sew Simple!

Here's another Cami Trifold Card, this time with a sewing theme. It's a CAS card with a few touches, one being the closure which is a button on a dimensional. The twine sets off the accessories.

Loo Roll Re-Use!

This mini book used to be a loo roll. No, I'm not kidding! The 4th Creative Crew Challenge for May was to make one of these cute books. I couldn't figure out how to attach the loo rolls together, staples looked 'blah' and I didn't have any brads hefty enough to do the job. I decided to hunt down some binder clips and just covered it with the same DSP as the book sleeves. I love how this turned out, who'd have though it?

You're Framed!

My third Creative Crew Challenge project is based on National Photography Month. Our project was to reflect something to do with photography (make a card that looks like a photograph, make a frame etc). So this is my framed deer.

I used circle framelits, not sure if you can see the outer brown 'frame', it's popped up on dimensionals. This is a very simple card, the deer is embossed.

To make the card, cut 2 scallop circles but score the back one about 3/4" down from the top, adhere the back to the front with that 'tab' and it will stand up like this ....

Creative Crew Summer 2014

This tri-fold card is made for this month's CREATIVE CREW challenge ~ Design Focus. The DF is the beautiful Watercolour Wonder Designer Series Paper. It's so pretty. I used it in this cute little card which unfolds to show a fun 'inside' layout. The challenge samples all use the colours in this DSP and can be found here. Baseball Fan?

I put together another baseball card for a friend at work. The challenge was "make a baseball themed card for a young man's birthday".

I am always frightened by masculine cards, no frilly, frou-frou bits, no girlie colours. Yikes! So add baseball onto that and I'm pretty much completely out of my comfort zone. Those who know me, know I don't do sports, not English sports and certainly not American sports. I don't get that whole "thing" ... so you see my challenge. So after googling images of baseballs and bats, I came up with this. For a non-sporting, non-masculine card maker, I think I did OK!

I wanted to personalise this one for Conner so added the C. The ball and the bat are pretty self explanatory. I free-hand drew the bat and but it out to make a template. Then I used the woodgrain background stamp to make it 'woody' and my dear friend and fellow demo Yvonne Newborn suggested I use Crystal Effects to make the wood shine. GENIUS! Thanks, Yvonne. After the monogram and the sports equipment I was a little lost, but suddenly thought of tickets to the game and a greeting. Love how this turned out. I hope he liked it too ....

April Club Projects

A quick post before work ~ here are the projects my Club girls worked on last night. I wanted to showcase this gorgeous 'watercolour wonder' designer series paper. Isn't it gorgeous? The card was very simple (inspired by a card I pinned by Margaret Raeburn). Of course, now I have the nifty envelope punch board, we had to have a matching one of those ;)

Then I wanted to share a pop up 'card in a box'. I had to keep it pretty simple due to time constrictions, but this one turned out just right! Black and Vanilla designer series paper and a tea-themed stamp set. My favourite!

This particular group of club girls have stuck with me over the past few months which have been a trial to say the least! They kept my small SU business going, making sure I had orders when I really wasn't 'giving' anything back to them. It means so much to me that some of them stuck with me through the hard times.
