CAS Christmas

I just love this Christmas Stocking, I think it's so fun. This card is truly CAS ~ I just added a couple of strips of glitter cardstock for some 'bling' and then added the sentiment with the new 1" scallop circle punch. Quick, easy and very sparkly :)

Recipe
Stamps : Open Sleigh, Petite Pairs (sentiment)
Ink : Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock : Cherry Cobbler, Shimmery White, Red & Silver Glitter Paper
Accessories : 1 1/4" Scallop Circle & 1" Circle Punches

Sebastian is 1

My blogging friend, LeAnne Pugliese of Wee Inklings has a GREAT sketch today over on Freshly Made Sketches. I have my cousin's little boy's first birthday coming up next month so (for once) I'm ahead of the curve and decided to make his card with LeAnne's sketch!

I used Storybook Friends DSP and stamp set with this adorable exuberant puppy ~ isn't he cute! I coloured with a blender pen and reinker and heat embossed the image with black embossing powder.

Recipe
Stamps : Storybook Friends & Memorable Moments
Ink : Versamark, Baja Breeze, Basic Black
Cardstock : Storybook Friends DSP, Crumb Cake, Shimmery White
Accessories : Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Labels Framelit, Big Shot, Small Oval Punch

Modern Christmas

Totally outside my comfort zone for this one. Clean & Simple sketches had a double challenge here. I like the sketch, but the colours were hard for me : Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip which are quite modern. Anyway, Sarah said she liked this, so I'm posting it although I'm not so keen! What I am loving are the framelit/stamp set combos we have now. LOVE these ornaments. I used Irridescent Ice to give it some 'pop'.

Recipe

Cardstock : Festival of Prints, Celery, Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Shimmery White
Ink : Wasabi, Versamark
Accessories : Framelits, Big Shot, Itty Bitty Banners, Wasabi Ribbon, Irridescent Ice EP, Edgelit, Dimensionals, 1/2 Crystals

Ice Skating

Think I'm finally getting the hang of this new editing software. Maybe a little too light? I need Sarah to give me a lesson when she gets home from school :)

I loved this image the moment I saw it in the Big Catalogue. Wow, my family know what I'm going to say .... we have some old movies (1950's) of my Mum & Dad, Auntie Sue and Uncle Robin skating on the Pond at Great Chilton Farm (where they were all born and brought up in County Durham). These skates are identical to the ones in the old movie. We had them as kids and I tried to get the colours the same. What do you think, mum? I wish I had a photo of mum & Dad in their early 20's skating ... maybe when they're home from their mini vacation, I'll ask mum to fish one out and I'll post it here.

Watercolouring with the 'lid ink' technique and an aquapainter. The close up is a bit scary, look at all the bits I missed! LOL. I wanted some glimmer, so the new Champagne cardstock did the trick and then finally, the technique today on SCS is to make a card featuring 'circles'. Yep, this is quite round!!!

Open Sleigh

I used the sleigh image from this set and stamped it first in Soft Suede. Then I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler and trimmed just the sleigh body which is popped up over the sleigh runners. A touch of Dazzling Diamonds for some glistening snow and the image was done. The bottom of the card was embossed with the Scalloped Edge and then again on the white layer which was also cut with the large scallop die. I took some close ups so you can see the various elements to this card.

Play Date with Dawn Marie

Having a lot of fun today stamping with my friend Dawn Marie! I pulled out the 'Open Sleigh' stamp set and came up with this CAS card. I can't seem to get a good photo of it though, I have a new computer and have switched editing software. I need to practice!

Hilary's 70th

My parents live in a tiny village in rural Suffolk, England. When they moved to Elmsett, their neighbours popped in to welcome them and now, 20 years later they are still popping in for coffee, glasses of wine, supper parties, trips to the pub, you name it really! They were around when my daughter was born, they have walked our dog, we even saw the Millennium in with them. You could say we go 'way back'. Well Hilary's 70 on the 6th so I wanted to make a 'special' card for her. This one's special because there's so much bloody hand cutting involved!!! A labour of love, you could call it. Happy 70th, Hilary. See you on our next visit home!

I haven't been able to edit these pics, or add my watermark. I have a new laptop and the photo editing software isn't installed yet ... but you get the idea :)
