Mingle Swaps

Good Morning! I wanted to share my Mingle swap card with you. It was all SUO (of course) using the Send Me Soaring set from the mini catalog. We still have a month to order from the mini, there are many, many fabulous stampy things in there so if you haven't seen it, click the link in my right-hand tool bar. Occasions Mini Catalogue.

There were so many wonderful cards, but these two were my absolute FAVOURITES. This first one is from Lisa Hunter who is probably one of Stampin' Up's best customers ... hee hee. My friend Barb Bird made the second one, she's a demonstrator from Williamston MI and does beautiful work. Aren't these 2 cards just lovely?

Summer Smooches Class

Here are some detailed pictures of the class I'm offering to promote the Stampin' Up April Special "Summer Smooches". This product bundle is a customer special for April. The bundle is one of the 'suites' in the upcoming 2012/2013 catalog but you can order yours BEFORE the new catalogue goes live on June 1st.

If you order the stamp set, designer paper and seam binding ribbon ($34.85/wood $30.84/clear) you will attend the class for free. If you prefer to wait, then the class will cost $12. All the details will be in the customer e:mail so let me know if you'd like to come! The cards are 3x3 and you'll learn how to make matching envelopes from the Designer Paper with the newly introduced diagonal score plate. A MUST HAVE!

The Michigan Mingle

Here I am in Novi MI at the MINGLE! So excited to be here with all my buddies. I made this cute little picnic basket as my door prize. I filled it with Cadbury Mini Eggs (yummy!). I got the idea from a Norwegian blog. Due to the language barrier, I shall make an English version for you next week.

The MI Mingle

I'm about the spend the weekend with some of my best friends in the WORLD! It's the Michigan Mingle. We get together to stamp and mingle once a year, and it's this weekend. I have been busy working on swaps and gifts. Just finished making a ton of these to give to my 'special' friends. All made from SU fabric. I loosely based the design on this, but changed it up to make it easier. I will make a tutorial next week if anyone wants to know how I made mine.

Scoring/Fold Challenge

The challenge today on Splitcoast is to make a card incorporating a scored fold. You could make those cute rosettes, or any scored 'back & forth' fold. I decided to pull out the new Bright Blossoms set (I'm loving it!) and pair it with the Domestic Goddess Paper. It's the perfect match after the really bright card I made previously with this set!

Look at this fold, it's amazing. And it's not my idea, LOL. I humbly apologise to whomever came up with this, I was blog browsing, scribbled down the score dimensions THOUGHT I'd bookmarked the page so I could give credit, but I didn't. I must have been hurrying. If it's YOUR brilliant idea, let me know so I can acknowledge you!

To replicate this amazing fold, you will need a 12" strip of cardstock (cut to whichever depth you prefer) and you will score at :
1/4"   1/2"   1 1/4"   1 1/2"
2"   2 1/4"
3"   3 1/4"    3 3/4"
4"   4 3/4"
5"   5 1/2"   5 3/4"
6 1/2"   6 3/4"
7 1/4"   7 1/2"
8 1/4"   8 1/2"
9"   9 1/4"
10"  10 1/4"  10 3/4"
11"  11 3/4"

I broke it down so your eyes won't bleed :) You'll have to follow the close-up pics to see how it folds.
