It's a Paper Napkin!

So how clever is this? The cake background on this card is a paper napkin! I was so excited to try this out ~ here's the link to some directions on SCS. It ended up being a very simple card because the napkin has such a 'busy' design on it ... but isn't it fun? I'm going to be stalking the paper napkins aisles at Target from now on!

Today I needed to make a boy card and a girl card! I loved making the girlie one ... of course ... and struggled with the boy one!!! My friend Susie called me last night with some ideas for 13 yr old boys ... but I didn't latch onto anything! Anyway, I made it plain and simple ... not very exciting really but I don't think 13 yr old boys really care do they?! Thanks for all your suggestions Susie! Recipes are below.

Leaves and a Word

Sorry I missed a couple of days of posting ... had a mole removed yesterday from the very tip of my nipple ... sorry if that's TMI ... LOL ... but can you say OUCH!!!!! It's gone off for a biopsy so hopefully they won't find anything nasty! Anyway, it's not too bad today so I got to stamp! I combined 2 challenges into one card. Actually, I cheated with one ... Thursday's WT challenge was to use one word ... so I used one HUGE word and one teeny weeny word which I'm hoping the challenge police won't notice! Today's challenge is a Limited Supply one and we were to incorporate pink and leaves into our design. Here's what I came up with:

'happy' is stamped using a stamp-a-majig and letters from Schoolbook Serif Alphabet ... 'everything' is from the set happy everything. I don't know where the leaf is from, or how long I've had it but I like it! I just kept everything very simple, the leaves are embossed with clear EP and the flowers are from the collection called Felt Fusion. Love it!
Recipe
Stamps : Schoolbook Serif, Happy Everything
Cardstock : PTI Ripe Avocado, Vintage Cream and SU Choc Chip
Ink : Palette Ripe Avocado
Accessories : SU Oval and word window punches, Felt Fusion, Filigree Brad, regular brads

Colour Challenge Card

Today's colour challenge on SCS is to use Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss. I just got a new box of goodies from Papertrey Ink and KNEW that today I had to use the coffee mug from Warm Happiness ... I LOVE IT! You can find it here. The card itself is super simple, just layering with Designer Paper and a piece of embossed cardstock.

Twinkling H20's and a Pink Piggy

I was very excited this morning to see that the technique challenge involved Twinkling H20's. These are shimmery watercolours which come in little cakes. Guess what? I bought them last year and have NEVER USED THEM! Shock! So what a great excuse to get them out. The challenge was to use pink (in appreciation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month). I found my little pink piggy from 'Very Punny' which was a sale-a-bration set from Feb '07 and I painted her in some Twinkling H20's. I also took a close up photo to show you the shimmer ... it's so pretty in real life!

Recipe
Stamps : SU Very Punny
Cardstock : Very Vanilla, Choc Chip, Pretty in Pink
Ink : StazOn Brown
Accessories : CB Paisley embossing folder, liquid pearls, Michael's polka dot ribbon, SU punches, scallop and 1 1/4" squares, Twinkling H20's in Rose Petal and Poppy Red.

H&M Sketch Challenge AND Colour Challenge

Why not try out H&M Stamps sketch challenge or colour challenge this weekend? It's fun!

I used H&M's set Christmas is the time for Cookies which was designed by Bev Cole. I struggled colouring in the basket of cookies, but only because I don't have enough shades of brown and cream in my Copic collection! LOL. Details of how this went together are below.

Recipe
Stamps : H&M Christmas is the time for Cookies
Cardstock : White, Dk Grey, Bashful Blue DP, Creamy Caramel
Ink : Palette Burnt Umber
Accessories : Copic Markers, Nestabilities scallop oval dies

An Oldie but a Goodie

Morning all! I pulled out one of my original SU stamp sets for today's Limited Supply challenge over on SCS. It's A Tree for all Seasons and it's been around a long time! I love it though and have not shown it much love recently!

The LSC was quite strict ... use eyelets, ribbon and one sheet of designer paper ... no other embellies! We also had to add a touch of blue. I chose jumbo pewter eyelets, Michael's ribbon, and a piece of scrap So Saffron DP. Easy Peasy!

Recipe
Stamps : A Tree for all Seasons
Cardstock : PTI White, So Saffron DP, Choc Chip, Brocade Blue
Ink : Palette Noir
Accessories : Copic Markers, Stickles, Crop O Dial, Ribbon
