Engaged!

A quick post, it's way past my bed time! My friend Heide showed me a card by Dawn Griffith while we were chatting at work. It's quite a simple, but effective idea. You make a card 11" x 4 1/4", but you slice the top off the front to make a sort of half-card. Decorate the edge with pretty punched out shapes and hey presto! One of our colleagues got engaged at the weekend so this is for her. I hope she likes it.

Nautical Club

One of the benefits of being in a Stampin' Up Club is that you get your hands on the "new stuff" before it's available in the catalogue. This project is a 3x3 notecard 'box' made from the Stampin' Up Envelope Punch Board. If you don't have one yet, BUY ONE NOW. They are truly versatile! I made the 3x3 box with the help of this handy dandy tool from 'The Crafty Owl', an English demonstrator's genius invention. You key in the dimensions of the box you want to make, and it will throw out the dimensions and score lines. Brilliant!

I love, love, love this nautical paper, so fun and summery! And the matching set "Sea Street" is the perfect accompaniment. I made a quick and easy belly band to hold the box closed, and added the new Coastal Cabana twine. Isn't it fab?
Inside the box are 3 little notecards, all using the same stamp set and paper. I love it!

This is a very clean and simple idea, showcasing the fabulous product which I'm sure you can't wait to get your hands on ;) June 1st is the date ....

Mother's Day Wreath

Who doesn't LOVE Pinterest? Full of inspiration for whatever is your passion. I saw this card by an English demonstrator, Julie Kettlewell. I love her work, and this gorgeous card just spoke to me. I needed a card for a friend to give her mother this weekend so I did a CASE of Julie's original. The small, solid colour flower in there is the new punch (available June 1st). Isn't it cute? I love how fresh and pretty this wreath is.

The dimensions for this fold are : 11 x 4.25". Score along the long edge at 2.75" and 8.25". Then cut 2 circles using the circle framelits and scatter the tiny blooms from Petite Petals around the edge. One of the flowers is green, to give the impression of leaves. I did attach the wreath on the left hand side using dimensionals to make it look like it's hanging on the barn door. Great inspiration, Julie, thank you!

Sparkle & Shimmer!

I designed these cards for some special birthdays in May. They are very "blingy" and shimmer and shine all over the place! Very hard to photograph, but the age is cut out of our wonderful glimmer cardstock, and placed on window sheet strips so they 'fall' out of the envelope. I stuffed it full of hearts too which adds a special touch. The envelopes are made with the fabulous SU envelope punch board (love it!). And of course, added sparkle and bling courtesy of our rhinestones.

Cardstock : All different pinks, Silver cardstock, glimmer cardstock, basic black
Accessories : Typeset Die, Big Shot, rhinestones, heart punch, scallop lace punch, envelope punch board, window sheets, glue dots

Loo Roll Re-Use!

This mini book used to be a loo roll. No, I'm not kidding! The 4th Creative Crew Challenge for May was to make one of these cute books. I couldn't figure out how to attach the loo rolls together, staples looked 'blah' and I didn't have any brads hefty enough to do the job. I decided to hunt down some binder clips and just covered it with the same DSP as the book sleeves. I love how this turned out, who'd have though it?

You're Framed!

My third Creative Crew Challenge project is based on National Photography Month. Our project was to reflect something to do with photography (make a card that looks like a photograph, make a frame etc). So this is my framed deer.

I used circle framelits, not sure if you can see the outer brown 'frame', it's popped up on dimensionals. This is a very simple card, the deer is embossed.

To make the card, cut 2 scallop circles but score the back one about 3/4" down from the top, adhere the back to the front with that 'tab' and it will stand up like this ....

Stamp : Remembering Christmas
Ink : Versamark
Cardstock : Very Vanilla, Early Espresso

Creative Crew Summer 2014

This tri-fold card is made for this month's CREATIVE CREW challenge ~ Design Focus. The DF is the beautiful Watercolour Wonder Designer Series Paper. It's so pretty. I used it in this cute little card which unfolds to show a fun 'inside' layout. The challenge samples all use the colours in this DSP and can be found here. Why not play along and upload to the gallery ....
